One of the great features of Safe Lagoon is monitoring of services like Google search and YouTube.

To do that, your child's device needs to be logged into their Google account (with their own Google ID). We link to Google directly and report to you in your Safe Lagoon parental app.

But not all kids have Google IDs - so here are some quick steps to setting up one for them.

**If you use your Google ID instead of creating one for your child, Safe Lagoon is going to report to you your activity 😲 (it happens and its easy to fix - but you will need to re-link to Google using your child's ID)

On a new Android device

Follow these steps to create a Google Account for your child under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) to sign them into an existing device running Android 5.1 or up.

  1. Turn on the new device and follow the instructions on screen to set up the device.
  2. When you're asked to sign in with your Google Account, tap Create new account. If you don't see "Create new account," tap "More options" first.
  3. Enter your child's name, birthday, gender, email address, and password.
  4. Follow the instructions to sign in with your own Google Account, provide parental consent, and pick your child's settings.
